Like humans, all pets, regardless of age or health status, need routine preventive care to stay healthy. That means that pets shouldn’t see the veterinarian just when they are sick. Healthy pets need to visit the veterinarian at least once and preferably twice annually. Does this sound like a lot to you?

Well, think of it this way. Dogs and cats age faster than you do. When your pet sees the veterinarian once a year, that’s the equivalent of your seeing your own doctor every seven or eight years.
