Best Pet Strollers (Reviews and Guide)
Pet Stroller Buying Guide
Benefits of Buying a Pet Stroller
Sometimes, you might want to give your pet some fresh air in the great outdoors, but the very nature of pets often makes such offerings impractical. With pet strollers, however, you’ll be able to give them nothing but the very best. Not only are they safe, but most are also affordable and even stylish.
Keep Crafty Critters Contained
All of the strollers that I’ll be reviewing today are equipped with individualized compartments that your pets can neatly rest in as they take in the sights. They are commonly easy-access and you shouldn’t have much trouble keeping your pet safe and secure at all times. Even the boldest of adventurers won’t be able to absent-mindedly wander past these defenses!
Mobility to Those Pets That Need a Helping Hand
As we age, we naturally start to lose our vitality and our strengths slowly become our weaknesses. Unfortunately, there’s not much we can do to totally block the same thing happening to our favorite companions. That’s just another big part, however, of what makes pet strollers a fantastic choice as an alternative form of mobility for any pet who could use a boost, whether because of injury, old age, or something else.
Keep In Mind…
You should be considering a few key components when trying to find the best pet stroller for your little buddy. Here are some of the most important:
Weight Limit and Dimensions
Just like with pets, not all strollers are created equal, and different brands meet different needs. Whereas some pet strollers may have a larger compartment with which to hold your pet, others will be smaller and better suited for pets on the mousier end of the spectrum. Likewise, you should always pay close attention to a stroller’s weight capacity, because the same concept applies here as well.
Pet strollers are just as much for your pet’s enjoyment as they are for you, and only you can determine what you really need. Some of the more affordable strollers are rather basic and function strictly as a pet holder on wheels. The more complex strollers, however, will have a little more space, a more durable structure, and more versatility in not only where they are able to go, but also how you get there.
Although it should not, by any means, be expected for pet strollers to come packing features, those that do tend to, at least in my personal opinion, make a more enjoyable experience. Depending on the features, this could improve the whole experience for not only my pet but also myself!
Now, I may just be a writer, but I am also a fellow consumer that wants to give you the information that you need to make an informed decision on a purchase that you will not regret anytime soon. Helping others is something that I really like to do, and so today I’m here for you! Following are some tips on how to assess these products to determine which one is the very best pet stroller for you.
How Far Are You Going?
The three strollers that I’m going to present to you in the latter end of this article are all unique and the distance that you’re looking to cover, as well as the amount of time you wish to spend strolling, are going to determine which one best fits your needs. For example, if you’re only going around the block you may not need all the bells and whistles, but traveling farther out or on less smooth terrain might demand more sturdy equipment.
What Kind Of Pet Do You Have?
Of course, this is obvious, but it is a more relevant question than you might think, because, although almost all pet strollers feature mesh windows for your pet to see through, some strollers have the window near the top of the holding compartment, making it impossible for smaller pets to get a good view. We all know how quick our companions can be to panic when they can’t clearly see their surroundings in foreign places, so this is definitely an important aspect to keep in mind.
What Makes The Best Dog Stroller?
Finally, we’ve reached the part of the article where I list off the highlights of each product based on my research and personal experience, and end with my opinion of which stroller is ultimately the best pet stroller out of the bunch.

Vivo’s three-wheel pet stroller reaches for the stars with its numerous features that offer the most comprehensive experience amongst my top 3. It was made to go the distance and is equipped with the wheels to tackle any terrain.
There is little I have to say in regard to this stroller’s limitations. In fact, it actually has a lot to offer, from storage space for extra items in the undercarriage to the 2 cup holders for the longer strolls in potential heat. If that’s not enough, it folds up to store more easily when not in use and can carry up to 30 pounds of pet!
– Large pet compartment
– Undercarriage for convenient snack/pet food storage
– 2 cup holders for additional food or drink
– High-quality wheels allow for improved handling on less favorable terrain
– Durable design and materials mean that this stroller is built to last
– Mesh window is high up and prevents visibility for smaller pets
– Weight capacity of 30 pounds restricts some pets from riding along, but most will be well accommodated

If you are looking for something bare-bones basic that will get you out and back, this may be the one for you. Don’t let this stroller’s simple design throw you off, because it stacks up well against the alternatives as far as what it does.
BestPet’s stroller may appear to be at a disadvantage when lined up next to these competitors, but it has a few tricks up its sleeve. This stroller, in particular, is more lightweight, giving it increased mobility and maneuverability. There is a pad that rests at the bottom of the holding department that can be removed to make cleaning inside that much easier. The design is durable and the actual compartment can be removed for pet transport in cars or even for relaxing around the house though for that effect I added strips of cardboard for support.
– Light for easy transport
– Foldable for easy storage
– Zip-front bonnet encloses carrier compartment from above
– Simple design at an affordable price
– The carrier can be removed, but flattens out. However, with some cardboard I set it up in my home with no issues
– Wheels not meant for heavy terrain, but will do just fine with dirt paths

Out of the three options, this stroller definitely strikes a balance between quality and simplicity. The design is more structurally sound and 8 wheels, rather than the typical 4, mean that this stroller means business.
From the larger dual 6-inch wheels to the stroller’s weight of only 9 pounds, this one is clearly made with more off-the-beaten-path adventures in mind. A pleasing aesthetic design combines with Pet Gear’s signature “no-zip” locking mechanism that eliminates the hassle of zippers that easily catch on fabric.
– 8 wheels at 6″ can handle anything the path (or lack thereof) can throw at you
– Lightweight for improved mobility
– Easily foldable for storage purposes
– No-zip mechanism is hassle-free
– This stroller’s carrying capacity is only 15 pounds, but that should be perfectly fine for anyone who has pets on the mousier side of the pet size chart
– The floor space in the compartment may leave some room to be desired, but once again, this was definitely designed with smaller pets in mind
My Top Pick: #1 VIVO Three Wheel Pet Stroller
The VIVO three-wheel pet stroller is my ultimate pick. Its large carrier compartment holds pets up to 30 pounds and protects your pet against the dangers of the outside world and the bottom of it is even padded to maximize your pets’ comfort.
A zipper-based system makes sure that you have quick and easy access to your companions at all times and the mesh window additionally provides both visibility and ventilation.
It is listed as being easy to fold for quick transport and compact storage, and this feature was much appreciated in my small apartment, where I have exceedingly limited space. I found that I was capable of folding the stroller with only one arm while wrangling my dogs with my remaining, free hand and I was able to do so with little to no problems.
The undercarriage was truly a lifesaver as I was able to store all the treats, plastic doggy bags, and tennis balls that my little buddies could ever dream of, and I was never caught out on the trails unprepared ever again.
The 3 durable wheels are designed to handle most surfaces that you would encounter within the city, but I had no issues using the stroller on hiking trails with smoother paths. The front wheel swivels, allowing for increased maneuverability, but do keep in mind the fact that these wheels are all plastic and should not be taken onto any seriously rough terrain.
